A pancreatic cancer prognosis always sounds more like a death sentence than any kind of prognosis. Unfortunately the only pancreatic cancer symptom that is usually noticed, is the prognosis. Pancreatic cancer rarely gets caught early due to it’s rather vague, and all too common symptoms. Statistically in more than 80% of patients the tumor has already spread and cannot be completely removed at the time of diagnosis. This cancer has a 5-year survival rate of less than 5%, meaning 95% of the people diagnosed with it, will not be alive 5 years later.
Death row inmates have it better if you consider they know exactly when they’re going to die, and they don’t have to suffer nearly as much as those with pancreatic cancer do. Coupled with endless torture from their doctors in the form of test and treatments, I would have to say death row inmates not only live longer, but also die a more peaceful death than pancreatic cancer patients.
